Topic:
Georgia's first High Occupancy Toll (HOT) Lanes
are under construction along I-85 and SR 316 in DeKalb and
Gwinnett Counties. Mike Holt of World Fiber Technologies
will present an overview of the HOT lanes concept and will
discuss the project construction, including scheduling, traffic
control, equipment and installation methods.
At this month's meeting, our
man at the state capital Tom Leslie will give us an update on
bills that affect our industry including the outlook for
funding. He will also discuss plans for the transportation
funding referendum in 2012.

Shackelford Scholarship winners who answered the question:
Describe and develop a plan for an implementable, cost-effective
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) solution for reducing
traffic congestion, greenhouse gas emissions, and traffic
crashes in the metro Atlanta area.
Topic: Evaluation of the Towing Recovery and
Incentive Program
Ron Boodhoo
will discuss the methodology and assumptions which were used to
evaluate the TRIP Program. The results of the study will be
presented, culminating with a calculated B/C ratio for TRIP.
