During the closing session Mike Holt thanked the many members who organized and carried out the annual meeting, announced new officers and directors for 2018 – 2019, and then there were prizes!   Check out these happy faces!

Sessions Four brought together a panel of people implementing Smart Cities technology today and provided a glimpse of challenges and opportunities in the future affecting safety and connectivity. Grant Waldrop of GDOT was the moderator.            

In Session three, the focus was on connected vehicles and work underway across North America to tie vehicles to the infrastructure. We looked at industry perspectives to test sites in Canada and the U.S. Keith Strickland of Stantec was the moderator.              

Session Two took a look at various Coastal Georgia Projects that include intelligent transportation solutions. We look at the Port of Savannah, Draw Bridges and Signal Timing in the Savannah area.            

Session One focused on new ITS technologies being deployed in Georgia and around the country from signal dilemma zones to smartphone apps that communicate with traffic signals and emergency vehicles. GDOT’s Sam Harris was our moderator.
