Connected Vehicle 201 – ITS America Workshop

TRAINING: CV 201: Preparing for Connected Vehicle Deployment

We had a great workshop with a full house at the Jacobs Midtown office on June 27. Thanks to ITS America, FHWA and ITS JPO. Also thanks to our presenters Carlos Alban, Daniel Grate and Ram Kandarpa. A special thanks to Marco Friend for being a gracious host.

In partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s ITS Professional Capacity Building Program and ITS America, ITS Georgia is offering the workshop Connected Vehicles 201. The purpose of this course is to help transportation agencies that are beginning to plan the implementation of a connected vehicle (CV) environment. The overall goal of the course is to teach how to develop an action plan in collaboration with regional partners to improve readiness for CV deployment. You will learn more about the safety, mobility, and applications and will gain an overview of three CV pilot sites in Wyoming, New York City, and Tampa. Also, learn how to identify funding sources for CV projects. Lastly, you will be updated on recent activities supported by the ITS Joint Program Office and resources available from the CV research program sponsored by the U.S. DOT.
